stay safe from Distraction Burglary

Stay Safe from Distraction Burglary!

No one wants to be a victim and we certainly don’t want any of you to be; we want to spread the word and reason awareness of distraction burglaries..
Distraction burglary is a sneaky tactic where criminals trick you into letting them into your home by pretending to be someone they're not.
They might claim to be from a utility company, a charity. Once inside, they can steal your valuables while you're distracted.

Dangers: These burglaries can be especially harmful to elderly or vulnerable individuals, leading to loss of property, emotional trauma, and even health issues.

Prevention Tips:
Use a Door Chain: Always use a door chain or spy hole to check who's there before opening the door.

Verify ID: If someone claims to be from a company, ask for ID and verify it by calling the company directly.

No Cold Callers: Display a "No Cold Callers" sign to deter unexpected visitors.

Stay Alert: Be cautious of anyone asking for help or claiming an emergency.

Lock Up: Keep doors and windows locked, even when you're at home.
Stay vigilant and protect yourself and your loved ones from these deceptive tactics.
