Hinckley Town Neighbourhood Team - Weekly Update

Another busy week on Hinckley Town Centre (Sunday 28th April – Sunday 5th of May).

Officers have been made aware of counterfeit Scottish £50 notes being used at local retailers. The notes that have been identified can be identified by blurred printing by the serial numbers and hologram security measures that can be peeled off the note. If you come into possession of these notes, please do not hesitate to contact the beat team.

We have been working closely with colleagues from Hinckley CCTV and local retailers to identify shop theft offenders. Some excellent work by CCTV have identified a vehicle being used to commit theft in Hinckley, and this vehicle was picked up and recovered with both occupants of the vehicle arrested on Thames Valley Policing area. Officers from the beat team make regular contact with other forces to identify offenders who travel across the Country to commit theft. A large amount of goods has been recovered and will be returned to the store.

Officers from the town centre and OP DETECT have been working together and have arrested two suspects for theft. One was dealt with locally and another was remanded to court. Several goods have been recovered and returned to stores.

In the last week we have seen a decrease in anti-social behaviour reports across the town centre. But regular hi-visibility foot patrols are carried out by beat officers at key times. We encourage residents, persons working in the town and visiting the town to report anti-social behaviour so we can work with Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council to identify offenders. You can report anti-social behaviour via 101 or online @ Report antisocial behaviour | Leicestershire Police (leics.police.uk)
