Officers are issuing a warning after youths were sighted climbing on a Town centre roof earlier this evening.

The youngsters were spotted climbing on the roof of a property in Commercial Street, Tadcaster.

Separately, we have received reports of youngsters going inside derelict buildings around the Town centre.

We are now asking parents to make sure they know what their children are and urging youths not to climb on the roof or to enter derelict buildings, which are being used as a risky playground. These places often hide dangers which could cause serious injury or death.

Officers are urging parents to speak with their children about where they are going at night and regarding their behaviour.
