Good afternoon Fosse Ward!

Today myself, PCSO Sarah and PC John have been out on Fosse Road North conducting Speed Checks at the junction with Henley Road, with assistance from PC Baz from our neighbouring Abbey Ward Beat Team. Our operation lasted for almost two hours and we passed advice and warnings to multiple motorists. Fortunately we did not encounter anyone driving recklessly or in any sort of severe excess of the speed limits and thus did not need to issue any Traffic Offence Reports (TOR's).

PC John was able to spot a suspicious vehicle and upon conducting checks it was found that a male in the vehicle was outstanding for offences from outside Leicestershire, he was swiftly arrested and taken down to our custody suites to be booked in and transferred.

We shall be conducting more checks ourselves like this in the following months but may be aware that within Leicestershire Police we have a Safer Roads Team who work across multiple areas and conduct their own checks using the large van you may be more familiar with seeing parked up around Glenfield Road, Henley Road and Groby Road.
