👮 Stevenage and North Herts Police Cadets were at Gosling Sports Park on Saturday (20 April), where they took part in a specially adapted Personal Safety Training session planned and delivered by the constabulary's Personal Safety Trainers. 

🏃 The cadets all took part in the fitness test before having an input on how officers use various levels of force in a few different scenarios. They were also shown how to diffuse situations by using communication and body language. 

🚨 They were then shown how officers would respond to a violent individual using different levels of force that are proportionate to the situation. The cadets were also given the chance to use a training PAVA which is a canister of pressurised water which simulates the deployment of live PAVA spray. The cadets were guided through the correct procedures when deploying it and in which situations it is proportionate to use this level of force. 

🩹 To wrap the session up, they all practiced basic first aid.
