Community Speed Watch Event Completed in Charlesworth.

Glossop SNT - Community Speed Watch completed at Charlesworth

The Hadfield Volunteer Community Speed Watch Team completed an event on the A626 Marple Rd, Charlesworth this afternoon, Wednesday 24th April.

The event took place at the side of Charlesworth recreation ground and was held between 2.50 pm and 4 pm. The speed limit on this road is 30 mph.

A total of 624  vehicles went by the team during the event and on this occasion 5 of those were recorded at speeds in excess of the speed limit, with one of the vehicles recorded at a speed of 47 mph. Those 5 drivers will now receive letters of advice from Derbyshire Constabulary about their speeding in Charlesworth today.

A big thank you as always to the 3 volunteers who completed the event this afternoon.

Community Speed Watch is a community-based, education-centred scheme that enables local volunteers to work within their own community to raise awareness of the dangers of speeding and to help control the problem locally
