PURSE DIPPING ADVICE - SEVENOAKS

Good afternoon all,

I want to raise this again as there have been further reports of Purse Dipping in the SWANLEY and SEVENOAKS Area's. Please read the below advice in full.

Please remain vigilant while in town, as this was a growing trend last year. Ensure your purse or wallet is securely concealed and avoid keeping them in back pockets or loose clothing. Visit one of our crime prevention stands for a free purse chain and more crime prevention freebies and advice for other crimes - dates to follow - keep an eye on the new engagement events feature in My Community Voice.

If you suspect you've been a victim of such a crime, contact your bank promptly to cancel your cards and notify the police.

Here are some additional crime prevention tips:

Stay Alert: Be aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded areas or when approached by strangers.

Secure Your Belongings: Keep valuables like wallets, phones, and bags close to your body and out of sight.

Use Secure Accessories: Consider using purse chains or wallets with anti-theft features to deter thieves. Also attachable purse bells or wallet bells.

Avoid Distractions: Be cautious of anyone creating a distraction, as it could be a tactic used by thieves.

Report Suspicious Activity: If you notice anything unusual or suspicious, report it to the police immediately.

Stay safe and take proactive measures to protect yourself from theft and other crimes.

Many thanks,

PC COSTIN
