Hello

My name is Sam Puzycz and I am one of three Neighbourhood Watch Officers for West Yorkshire Police, I cover Leeds and Wakefield.

West Yorkshire Police are one of the few forces in the UK that employ staff such as me to support Neighbourhood Watch groups.

We work closely with National Neighbourhood Watch (Our Watch) who generally lead on NHW initiatives, but we can offer a localised approach to the information we share with our groups. Please see the table below:

National NHW Network

West Yorkshire Police NHW (Divisional)

· The National platform for NHW. They are a Home Office supported, registered charity and are the lead in most NHW initiatives.

· They hold a separate database of members, and schemes can register with both national and local organisers.

· Have access to training and development resources for schemes

· Only accessible by people in West Yorkshire.

· Crime and prevention information is tailored to the schemes location.

· Has dedicated force employed NHW co-ordinators for each district.

· Members can still join and use the National Network resources.

Each month I produce a crime overview for each area I cover along with crime prevention advice and emerging crime trends. This is sent via email to groups in my areas.
