Crime Prevention - Protect Your Bicycle

There has been a few reports of bicycles being stolen in the West Berkshire area. Here are some tips on how to keep your bicycle safe.

  • Fit a good bike lock, such as one with a Sold Secure rating, and attach your bike to something secure
  •  Always lock your bicycle, even if you are leaving it for a couple of minutes
  •  If you have quick-release wheels or parts that are easy to remove, lock them up as well or take them with you
  •  Have your bike's frame security-marked or etched and a photo
  •  Keep your bike in a secure garage or shed when at home
  •  Register your bike with schemes such as Immobilise www.immobilise.com
  •

Report bike thieves - If you have any information about anyone involved in the theft of bicycles please contact Thames Valle Police by calling 101 or online www.thamesvalley.police.uk
