Wooler Auction Mart

Good afternoon,

Property Marking Event – Wooler Auction Mart, South Road, Wooler, NE71 6SL. Tuesday 30th April 9.30am - 3.00pm

The Northumberland Partnership Against Rural Crime (NPARC), Northumbria Police and NFU Mutual are working with Selecta DNA and conducting a property marking event at Wooler Auction Mart on Tuesday 30th April.

Selecta DNA is a unique forensic marking system, designed to reduce theft by marking valuable equipment and possessions, such as ATV’s, trailers and other agricultural equipment, with a unique DNA code.  Associated warning signage, alerting criminals that property is marked and protected.

NPARC is committed to reducing rural and agricultural crime and we are working with partner agencies to tackle this, we are encouraging farmers and those with agricultural equipment to book an appointment and come along to the property marking event, where officers from Northumbria Polices Rural Crime Team will be on hand to mark property (such as ATV, trailers, chainsaws etc) and register the forensic marking kit, the kit will be then handed over for use at the farm, to mark other items.

The Selecta DNA kits can also be used to mark smaller electrical tools and gardening equipment as well as equine accessories such as saddles and horse tack.

There will be additional marking events being put on in other locations with dates to follow.

To book a space please email: operationhawkeye@northumbria.police.uk
