Possible case of deception

An East Devon District Council mobile support officer has made us aware of a possible case of deception. A resident had told her that she normally has her medication delivered. After the delivery two females called at her address and said that they had come to take away any surplus medication that she may have. The MSO contacted the pharmacy that had made the delivery and they stated that they would not send out anybody to collect surplus medication. It is possible that this is a form of distraction i.e. whilst one person is engaging with the potential victim the other is checking items in and around the property.

Devon and Cornwall Police advise that if ANY persons cold calls at your property and you are not sure as to who they are ASK for some form of identification. If you're still not happy refuse entry and if that person or persons insists on entry call us on 999.
