Bulletin 7 March 21st – March 27th 2024
Although we are encouraged by the recent low numbers of burglaries in our area it is really important that we all remain vigilant. The school Easter holidays are starting with many people going away which can lead to an increase in burglaries. Appeal for Witnesses
We are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on the A25 in Oxted.
Officers were called to the scene on the main A25 between Old Oxted and Brook Hill at around 10:40AM March 26th following reports of a collision involving a white panel van and a motorcycle.
The motorcyclist was sadly pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the arrival of emergency services.
The driver of the van suffered minor injuries.
The road was closed for around six hours, while we carried out our investigation, and was reopened shortly after 16:00 that afternoon.
We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone who saw either of the vehicles being driven prior to the incident, particularly if you have any dashcam footage, to contact us quoting ref PR/45240034140. CRIME REPORTS IN YOUR NEIGHBOURHOOD
Our Neighbourhood Patrol Team and Safer Neighbourhood Team deal with a variety of incidents. Here are a few they dealt with since the last Bulletin.
There were 20 Arrests in the period March 18th to March 25th : Domestic Abuse / Violent Domestic Abuse 7, Child at Risk 4, Public Order 3 , Prisoner Recall 1, Prescribed Limit Offence 2, Harassment 1, and Theft 2.
On March 21st a male driver failed a roadside breath test and refused to provide a sample of breath in custody. He has been charged to Court.
Following a road traffic collision in South Nutfield on March 22nd a male driver was arrested after failing a roadside breath test.

LINGFIELD AND SMALLFIELD
Burglary Business and Community
St Piers Lane, Lingfield. Overnight March 20th to 21`st offenders climbed over the half doors of a barn and stole a wheelbarrow and retractable hose (ref 45240032285).
Vehicle Crime
Broadbridge Lane, Smallfield – Theft. Between 00.01 and 23.59 March 26th index plate GY65AYO was stolen (ref 45240034370).
Ontario Close, Smallfield – Theft. Between o8.00 and 13.00 March 27th index plates FV120KD were stolen from a car (ref 45240034656).
Selbys, Lingfield – Theft. Between 14.30 and 17.20 March 26th index plates BN58BYA were stolen from a van (ref 45240034439).
GODSTONE
Vehicle Crime
Salisbury Road, Godstone – Theft. Between March 18th and 222nd index plates LY04XXL were stolen from a car (ref 45240032987).
HURST GREEN
Burglary Residential including sheds and garages
The Greenway, Hurst Green. Overnight March 22nd to 23rd a cat flap was broken and a pot plant from inside the property was dislodged in what was believed to be an attempt to gain entry to the house (ref 45240033133).
CATERHAM AND CATERHAM ON THE HILL
Burglary Residential including sheds and garages
Tupwood Scrubbs Road, Caterham. Between March 20th and 24th the ground floor window of a house was smashed in order to gain entry and undertake an untidy search. House keys, car keys and a Maurice Lacroix mens watch and a TAG Heuer pro 2000 mans watch were stolen (ref 45240033581).
Theft Salmons Lane West, Caterham on The Hill. Around 09.30 March 22nd metal pipes were stolen from a rear garden and a metal boiler was about to be stolen when the suspect was challenged by a neighbour and drove away in a van accompanied by a short dark skinned female. The male suspect had dark hair and a beard and did not speak English when challenged (ref 45240032848).
WARLINGHAM AND WOLDINGHAM
Burglary Residential including sheds and garages
Butlers Dene Road, Woldingham. Further to the burglary report in Bulletin 6 it has now been established that the grey Kia seen leaving the property around 16.03 March 20th was the car being driven by the offenders which was displaying false index plates. In addition to the cash reported stolen an Anlen electric scooter was also stolen (ref 45240032333).
Succombs Hill, Warlingham. Between March 25th and 27th the garage and unoccupied house adjacent to it were entered but nothing was stolen (ref 45240034725).
